The Passion.

I bet this is going to be Mel Gibson’s best movie.

This film depicts the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus. and done in the original languages.  I guess they’ll have sub titles but you really don’t need it.

After watching the trailer, I sat there a good 2 minutes Stunned..

I'm betting that hollywood critics tear this film apart simply because:
A) Mel Gibson is a family man with morals.
B) He's religious
C) He won't show up to screenings in a Limo, he drives his family station wagon.

Thats a given too. Probably by the Gay Men of Jesus Christ Church, for not representing homosexual men in the film.

It could be a good one, the material sure has stood the test of time.  

But why is it that films still depict crucifiction with nails through the hands when it was not done that way. Through the wrist bones it was. Is it a left over from the Stigmata phenomena that this is perpetuated?

Well of course it will be criticized....it will anger someone for sure....still, I agree with 10 Bears, it took courage for him to do this and I think this may be his best effort.

I saw an interview with him where he stated he and his family  were being threatened due to him doing this movie....from a Christians point of view, this is expected.

He's a better actor than most folks give him credit for, imho of course:)

You and I know this...but Hollyweird has taken on a political aura of its own unfortunately.  Actors/Actresses are consistently blacklisted for their political beliefs.

I'd say that if it gets panned, it's because it is a wank film. Kind of like Waterworld. Sure, the bleeding heart types with persecution complexes will wax lyrical about religious intolerance but at the end of day if it fails to move, entertain or if it takes itself too seriously it will flop. This film has a distinct Costner-esque smell about it, but I'll hold fire until I've seen it. It has potential.
