And speaking of AW.

Ho3w many of you managed to complete
"The 24 hours of Airwarrior"

I know much to my wife displeasure I tried several times and managed to do it once.

That is play the game for 24 hour straight, nonstop.
and by "play" I mean actually play and not just  stay logged on while ya go to bed.
And do it without the use of amphetamines
LOL

I pulled a 24 hour once, but it wasn't playing a game - working on a program. Its a freaky feeling, and then you realize you haven't eaten either. Too much hex causes brain damage :p

  Thanks for posting Flossy!

Ditch..I feel like a day1 player even after a month of playing now.

Gunnery is pretty tough. But the biggest problem for me is the wobbly rudder. I have a twisty stick (same I had in AW). Ive tried analog pedals but still wobbles. I dont know if USB would make much of a difference. And I really am leery of spending alot of money to try that.

Come on in and fly bud..I'll be lookin for ya!

You should have been able to have IT okay, as there are other two-letter names in the game - like LW and NB!  Unless it was already taken (by you trying the game out previously?), in which case drop an email to Skuzzy asking if it can be released.  Of course, if you changed to IT now, you would lose any perk-points you have on Drediok.....

Speaking of old AW days, can amyone give me some updates on some of the people that were a big part of AW in the beginning years like... (I know what HT, Pyro, and Superfly are doing :D)

BlueBarron
Homes
Quarters
GrayEagle
Vossman
Ghostrider
Stiletto
DeadDuck
Eyeballs
DokTaGonZo (sp?)

I know some may be deceased (if so my condolences), but just curious if they play anymore. Last time I ran into any of them , the were working for Kesmai. Guess they maxed out the credit cards and were sold into slavery:eek:

Sorry to name drop, but I am curious.

i dont know what happend to any of those people, but i met most of them at conventions and they were all super nice...even some with badboy reps in the arena . Guys like DeadDuck were who you wanted to be with during scenarios. Ill never forget one scenario (i actually forget which one exactly) where we were a p38 squadron the whole time, and we didnt lose one stinkin plane...we had tripple the amount of kills of any other squad. Scenarios were so awesome. That was the absolute best thing about AirWarrior. I remember being so nervous as I dove on 2 262s limping home low on fuel....i got both of em as the ack ripped my plane apart and i barely made it home, smoking on the deck. Or the time some Doras tried to tangle with our P47s at 30k. They dove out to try to escape . I havnt played an AH scenario yet...i can only hope they are half as fun.

NB, glad to hear from you! I'll never forget the time you let me use your computer at the 96con because mine decided not to work until i got back home without me even touching it lol. I owe you a Moggy's Low Vulchin Lager =). (Which i still have BTW)
