Yeah, and I bet if a kid HAD fallen on it, the cop would deny ever saying anything like that, instead claiming he warned me not to do it.

I know. However, there is still a distinction. A block of wood with spikes in it, I'm not sure what type of spikes he meant - but there are types available that will puncture a tire under the weight of a car while still being dull enough not to puncture skin. Like old tyme wood nails that are flat on the end, I know - fallen on those placed in plywood before.

Anyway, having a metal rake laying about the yard and a kid fell on that - negligence maybe but a booby trap? They can puncture tires, got some nice points on 'em.

Now compared to razor blades on a sign...

He was talking about 12" nails or "spikes" you can get at any Ace hardware store. Also, spiking a board and laying it out in the grass shows some intent... I mean folks don't just do that as lawn art.

I chose another method that proved equally effective in the end.

Nope. The two officers said they couldn't do a report as there was no evidence other than tracks in the lawn and they couldn't estimate $ damage.

That seems kinda screwy, personally I haven't filed police reports... but I was there in person while someone placed a report for harrassment. They took down the information of everything that happened and told my friend to call them back if it happened again.

Anyway, I guess without evidence of a report of vandalism then that could be construed as a booby trap.
