Just checking, it is safe enough to install SP3, it won't make my dual core optimizer driver fail?

if it messes it up, Del, just reinstall the Dual Core Optimizer patch

I just tried the game on my son's AMD X25200 XP computer. It ran fine offline, but when I went online I got the spinning clipboard. I then loaded the amd optimizer and went back online. I was able to fly one fight and mix it up with 6 nmy. The system did good, it stayed at the upper lock limit of 60 fps. I have not flown much for the last two years -- I do like the dual core experience! I may have to replace my 4 year old box and fly some more.

UPDATE -

the AMD Dual Core Optimizer patch file, which is linked to in this thread at the beginning post and elsewhere.....

is no longer available on AMD's website!!!

Ghastly, bernjen and anyone else, who has backup copys of the June 2006,  November 2006, July 2008 AMD Dual Core Optimizer Patch files,

I would greatly appreciate it if you could email me a copy of each version ( except the Jul 2008 version 1.1.4 .... I already have this copy )

edit:*******************  just email me thru my profile on this bbs    I would greatly appreciate it

I feel that some of the older X2 AMD processors need the older versions to be able to play AH in WinXP, verses running AH2 in win98 compatibility mode

also the following Microsoft hotfix patch needs to be installed, especially if you are still using Win XP SP2 and you do not have your updates turned on or do not manually/selectively update your  winXP OS.......

SKUZZY,   is there a way to maybe host these older Dual Core Optimizer patch files on the HTC site since  the AMD site no longer are supporting them?

so certian AMD x2  Aces high players has some recourse to turn too?

AMD 7850 running Win7RC64bit here, no need for Optimizer.   :)

The fiance's AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ running Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit had the spinning clipboard but I was able to clear that by applying the Dual Core Optimizer.  The AMD page said it was Vista compatible at the time I downloaded it.  I have looked since to see if it is still on their site.

IF anyone wants to email me the patches I will host them for people that need them.  I will not warranty any of the patches, or the subsiquent use on your system.  I will guarantee they will be malware, virus free.  If you have a patch and would not mind dropping me a line so I can get them onto my site.
