F4U-1, I have loved the corsair as far back as I can remember. With the -1 I don't ever worry about ENY, it is available in all arenas except early war. It's big it's blue, and it can take off and land on carriers. When flown right (something I never seem to do) it is deadly, and it's fun killing late war rides in it. Not to mention the perks you can accumulate with it.

The exact reason why this game is going down the tubes.

Hello Davey,

I do not know why you choose to continue this inane conversation with little or no facts to support your argument.  I would counter that ingorant/uninformed pilots with bad attitudes are ruining the game environment Sir.  Further, please try not hi-jack every Spit related thread with unrelated topics.

<Salute>

My choice is the Spit 8.  The British planes were always what came to mind when thinking of WWII.  They are just plane (get it? plane? :lol) sexy.  Right Davey?

I've played for 4 1/2 years, not all under DaveyJ. It's not as long as most people, but I've seen the MA in alot better state then it is currently.

I take the Spitfire because I love the turn fight, and the Spitfire is one of those planes that CAN turn fight but it's still a challenge with some other planes. Also, its just the greatest looking plane ever!  :D :aok

F4U's thanks to Robert Conrad.

I've been flying the Bf109G-2 lately. I seem to like turn fighting.

So we have to guess right?

But I do understand that badmouthing the Spit-16 is now the "in thing" to do for the air Queens and their drones.

The rest of us unwashed serfs couldnt care less what cartoon airplane the other guy flys.

Currently I like flying the spit 16 cause I'm new and its pretty easy to maneuver.
Oh gosh Davey, the entire world is going to end because noobs are flying planes they like.

Dora for me.:aok I like the element of surprise, as in "What the f**k just hit me???" Relatively easy for an experienced pilot to counter, but you can be one Hell of a pest. :devil Very unforgiving if you screw up.

So what make you 'fly' a particular bird?  Is it just to be able to compete?  Is it history?  Is it performance?  Is it the challenge of doing more with less?

Have always been a P-38 fan since I was a kid, there was really no other choice for me except which P-38 to fly.  Since we have a 479th skin for the J and that's the P-38 that the 479th flew in the ETO, the choice of which P-38 to fly has been a no brainer since we got the J.

For me its the P-51s, I remember being at an airshow when I was 10 (now 27) and a flight of 51s came screaming by, the sound of the Merlin still echos through my head and gives me goosebumps. Being in an engineering career, the inovation and speedy design time also appeals to my mechanical nature.

As for flying it in AH, it fits me very well, I enjoy the speed, the gun package, and the multiple radiator and oil leaks.

I have been only playing for a year, and I have my mindset on what plane I like the most. The F4U1-D is one of the best planes in the game. I have been able to out turn spitsixteens and sometimes a zeke and a hurri. It just comes down to the guns, I love seeing the 50cals rip the airplane into shreads in a pass.

The exact reason why this game is going down the tubes.

Why?  Because he's a new player and is flying a plane that is easy for him to fly?  Your ignorant comment is one of the reasons game play is going down the tubes, not Rusty's.

Once people like you pull your collective head out of your arses and stop thinking that such and such a plane is a 'dweeb ride' or belittling people for flying Spitfires or La7's that would help improve the game play, telling a player they are part of the problem for flying a Spitfire won't.
