MOOT!! What the hell is your problem!!!
Why is it necessary to quote every paragraph of my post. That is rediculous. I thought I made "my" point clear.
My post was not DIRECTED at YOU. It was a statement of what "I" think about the DA.

I have said it several times that the DA is full of retards. I did not say they were good players...but it doesnt really matter anyway.

If you guys want to change something, change the way the MA is now. It's way worse than the DA. Atleast in the DA you can't run away.

There is NOTHING wrong with furball lake. Let them fly like they want. I doesn't need to be changed. It's just a small area where instant action can be found. GD man we have 5 other areanas.

When I fly there I expect to get ganged and hoed. That is my choice. All I am saying is if you don't find it fun then freaken dont go to the lake.

The gladiater areana is an analgy. Mabey I should call it the dirtiest, cheapest, back stabbing, low down, discusting corner one can find. If you dont want to get mugged then dont go down the street and stand on that corner. Is that better?

My point about "gladiator" is that there are no rules. ANY DIRTY TRICK IN THE BOOK IS ALLOWED. Further, anyone who plays this game is a lying bast if they say they don't do every single dirty trick that has been done to them.

As for being some white knight who is going to somehow change the place...forget it. Like you, I tried. I tried everything. The only thing I can do is fly there with my own style and give them a good fight. Perhaps that might change some of their ways but I doubt it.

Everytime the "DA furball lake" thread comes up it's from someone who goes in there, gets ganged, hoed, and beat down. Like that doesnt happen in the MA in every gangen furball that happens there.

What more can I say about it man.

Im done with this thread.

I wasn't making fun of you, just the arguments you made.  They don't add up.  I explained why.

Wrong on each count.  The lake is just crap.  It's not what it was, not what it could be, not what it should be.  I'm not arguing that it ought to be perfect.  I'm saying the status quo is below mediocre.  Whether I "impose" on others that it should change thusly is another matter.  I'm just pointing out what I think is flawed.  It's flawed to pretend a game about air combat is satisfactory when it's more about air timidity.  Any player with an ounce of consciousness will prefer the old lake, will prefer air combat where his actions actually matter, to one where he gets instantly gang piled by absolutely crappy players who counter-balance their utterly vacuous ACM, SA, gunnery, etc, with correspondingly overwhelming numbers.  It's like paying 15$ for a gladiator match and being put up against.... A swarm of bees.

Whining about the lake: Who cares.  If you're whining, you're no more relevant than the guys apologizing for the lake by relativizing.
Oh yeah and the line by line quote. It's supposed to show how absurd it is to repeat the same argument, paraphrased.  Be offended if you must, but if I argued that way, I'd expect as much.

Everytime the "DA furball lake" thread comes up it's from someone who goes in there, gets ganged, hoed, and beat down.

Please please show me anywhere that I came off that way in my OP you pompus a@@.

If anything I thought these three paragraphs epitomized my post:

Finally I went low to the middle of the lake and then everything started to click.  There weren't many Bish on so it was target rich.  By this time I had switched to a Spit V and was having a ball.  Yeah, I got killed a lot but had 2-3 kills on most flights and had some great fun.

I guess I don't really know what the regular complaints are about furball lake.  It is after all, a furball.

That said I had fun.  I'll be back and this may severly decrease my time in the MA's but for dear g*d HT get rid of the stats.

How YOU see that as:

... comes up it's from someone who goes in there, gets ganged, hoed, and beat down.

... is totally beyond me.

You know, I used to have respect for you.

I like Agents analogy.  Spot on.  :aok  Heck, after reading them, I may go there just for something different...instant ganging...should be able to work on multiple con engagements there...then hopefully that translates over to the MA for the "furballers" who like to dog pile a lone con.   :D

I also agree that it could be better...but it is not.

I find the lake a fun place to fly with less than 20 people in the arena.....if its not crowded thats where I usually fly.

I agree Strip,

when there's less than 20 people flying I love flying in the DA as its almost instant dog fighting, esp due to my timezone when the MAs maybe a bit quiet, but once the DA gets quite packed it deos become quite a HO, pick fest etc and it is a bit frustrating,

however so far, everything that happens in the DA also happens in the MA, its just because the dogfighting is concentrated in the fur ball lake it seems worse, Nothing that's happened in the DA has not happened in the MA.

I do prefere the MA still, but I think people are being a little arrogant if they feel they are better because they fly in the MA and not the DA, because DA pilots are skilless etc etc also I find people whine less in the DA than the MA, but again that maybe because the times I log on.

Thats just my experiences so far.

Just a nit pick.  Less whine per capita in the DA than in the MA?  Are you sure?

If perk rides were disabled in the DA I would fly there much more. But guys who can't afford the perk birds in the MA fly nothing but perk planes in the DA. Try a P-40 E or a 109-F model and you may find in much more fun and who knows you may just learn something while doing it. Any moron can spray the shy with 20MM like a garden hose.

Gladiator school? Really? How about turning on friendly fire and THEN you will have gladiator school.  The DA is nothing more than a majority of idiots that need the WTG pat on the back to stroke their ego.Nothing more, nothing less. They will do ANYthing to get that.Landing in the DA. If it was all about the instant fight they wouldnt take the time to land.

I 100% agree with both posts but HTC does not. Things like this have been mentioned OVER and OVER in previous posts since the H2H arenas were disabled.

I think the DA should be renamed - Mos Eisley Spaceport.  "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany. "

There are some good sticks in there (from my perspective) but piling on is the norm. Even if you fly way off to the side and wait at 5k for someone to challenge you. It is kind of monotonous as far as the planes involved, way worse than the MA. N1ks, Spit16s, Hurri2Cs and Zekes with Tempests, 51Ds and perked Corsairs picking the scraps. That's about all you'll find.
Flying alone, it's good for a laugh - if you're masochistic.   I fly a P-40 in there and I feel like the goat tied to the stake in Jurassic Park.
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

"i don't like that playground...thats were the girls beat me on the monkey bars".

:lol

I agree with strip, if there is less than 20 people or so it seems better than when there is 40-50 in there.

It's funny(ie:makes you feel like you're IQ is going down) when:

  • -You're fighting 2or 3v1 and then you get picked by a Tempest, Pony or F4U4 you never saw and he salutes you..

  • -You pick a dweeb that picked you and he salutes you..

  • -You go to a fight where you're a rook (for example) and you see 3 bish hording a knight..you decide to even the odds some and attack the bish.  The solo knight in his infinite wisdom decides to attack you during the fight.

This furball lake madness also spills over into the 'private' dueling maps as well.  Inevitably there will be some genius coming in to attempt a pick while you are in a private 1v1.  These nitwits don't understand that the red cons aren't computer generated AI pilots.
