Can you ask for police protection ?

Are those immigrants ? I can imagine their greatest fear would be if they are sent back to Somalia. Maybe you should contact immigration office for advice.

I'd move to friends, don't like the idea of waiting for them to make the first move.

Thanks for advice. Gonna take her to court first of all. Don't want to move out, as it seems like giving in to threats, and that might encourage her to ger her Somali friends.

They're nutters, the whole bunch. Unfortunately, we have lots of them here. One tried to stab my old neighbor in a fight, but broke the weak bellybutton knife on his jeans button.

Gonna talk with some people tomorrow, and depending on how that goes either move out for a while or get a gun.

Never underestimate the power of a big fediddlein piece of chain. Doesn't take much space, but gives you some room and wraps around an arm nicely.

Seriously dude, unarmed combat is a serious proposition when it's life and death. There's no such thing as "defending yourself." If it comes to the point where a conflict is inevitable, you must be prepared to be meaner, more evil, and downright nastier than the other guy. If you arm yourself with a knife, remember: a knife is NOT a defensive weapon. Attack, attack, attack. Don't over extend yourself...

But if I was you I would avoid it anyway you can. Especially if there are more than 1 involved. Get something that will give you enough time to get out of the situation. Pepper spray, etc.

Somalis....don't get me started....

Santa, pretty much what Hortlund said, if Denmark is anything like Sweden the law can do nothing, they'll be out from Jail before you even know they were ever in.

First thing you need to do is read up on the laws in Denmark. In Sweden we have a law called "Nödvärn". Basicly it says that you're alowed to use as much violence as needed to protect your self or any other person. If you are attacked by a man with a knife and there is a chance of you getting killed, you're alowed to protect your self with whatever force needed. This is pretty obvious, however, you need to know the law so that you later can say in the court that what you did was indeed "Nödvärn" and you must know what laws you have to back you up.

Also, arm your self with some kind of small weapon, no sort of gun, will only bring missery to your self and possibly other, specially if you don't have any kind of education on them. A small knife or "knogjärn" (fist iron?), just somehting that you can have in your pocket to protect your self if the situation REALLY requires. Pepper spray can be usefull I guess but. having been exposed by teargas (3 times stronger then normal police gas) I don't think it will stop a person, maybe buy you some time to run away though.

Problem with Sweden and Denmark is you're basicly not alowed to carry protective weapons of any kind, it's elegal to walk around with a knife unless it belongs to your uniform (meaning if you are a carpenter and need a knife you're alowed to have it in public as long as you have the uniform on).

Get a vest to protect from knife stabs, not cheap but needed.

Don't call the Hells angles guys, delivering a message to her will bring nothing but her whole family on you and that's not what you want.

ALWAYS try to RUN before you do anything. If they do attack, SCREAM alot (it helps believe me, it may seem like a sissy thing to do but it scares them, makes them uncertain and warns people around you thus exposes them, one of the best things you can do).

Buy a small pocket alarm (like a keyring thing that, when the plug is pulled sound of with 100 Db, nice thing to have).

This sounds like a good idea. Nobody will be able to do anything, but at least there will be witnesses, and someone to call an ambulance.

It's times like this I'm glad I live in the USA. (At least for now, we'll probablyend up where you guys are now eventually)

Odds are that these guys are going to be able to beat you in any kind of "even" fight. So using a knife or any kind of "hand to hand" weapon will probably do more harm than good. Better to get stabbed and left for an ambulance, than force them to go further. Fighting is probably only a good idea if you have some kind of trump card handy, (i.e. a gun you know how to use) Unless you're confident that whatever agressive action you take will do the job, the best thing is probably to just get the hell out of there. Run, instead of trying to fight, or even better get out of thier before there is a confrontation.

Trying to fight when you can't win will only make things worse. Pride is something to be fought off, and is of little use in any important decision.

The stab proof vests are a good idea. Mace may be enough if it comes down to a confrontation. A pistol possibly, if you can learn to use it properly, and carry it with you. The shotgun seems pretty useless unless they were to try and break down the door.

Best advice I have seen here. If it goes bad and a fight of any type is inevitable, attack with all the force, anger and rage you can muster. Command the fight, put the opponent on the defensive.

Use whatever weapon you can lay your hands on, when its for real, there are no rules.

I dont know about calling in any cobras...but i liked the idea about the sand in the garden hose or...a nice heavy piece of chain...with some suitable object on the end...like one or two or hell...even three of those U shaped jobs on the end with a screwlike pin through them...hide it in your jacket....that oughta give em second thoughts...but practice wailing it around to get the best effect

Option 1:
Somoli aye? Go buy some friggin airliner manuals, post them to the squeak from an anonymous address and then ring the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, and National Guard to give them a 'tip off'.

Option 2:
Go buy a toejamload of booze, and a crapload of ratpoison. Mix it all up, put on some xmas wrapping, drop it off at her address.

Either way, problem solved relatively cheaply.

Hum, my apologies santa, didnt read the entire post, just saw some kung-fu pictures and thought it was a funny thread. Anyways, I agree with swoop in that if they tried anything, it would be when you leave or return home. Where and when would you try if you were them. At your doorsteps or near your car. Crazy people all right, druny mother with assault charge wanting her child. Two men with knives. In any case better to be safe like looking both ways when crossing the street sorta rule here. If it were me, I would go buy a safe and get the shotgun but then your at risk between your door and your car. Good luck hope it doesnt turn out worse than it already has.

Go ahead and get a gun safe. However, in the mean time, they make this stuff called "Bear Spray". Hikers use it to stop charging bears (or its supposed too). Its just a high powered pepper spray. If they come back, spray them in the eyes, then call the cops. Hopefully they will be immobilized long enough to be arrested.
