My wife cant stand her either ink. To me its how its written. I told my wife tonight Im glad Shanes gone so the back and forth, hot/cold relationship between the two is over. Really looking forward to it though.

Side note, just watched the 2nd season for Game of Thrones. So much better than Season 1. Never read the books, but finally starting to know the characters.

Never saw season one or two, wanted to though.  They were on to day... and I had to work... damn it!

I'm still completely clueless as to what is going on.  Don't tell me though, I'll watch them some day.

Watching the Marathon.. Only saw the first season, up until the
little girl vanished by the creek.. So all the second season is new to me..

Dale is gone, bummer.. But I guess the character had run dry..

Shane is gone, good riddance.. Conniving treacherous scumbag..
Couldn't stand that guy from the first time I saw him..

Wow, aside from the gratuitous gore fest, this is great TV...

Battle at the Farm now...  :rock

I gave the show a shot yesterday. I watched a couple episodes. I am not trying to dis this show, but man it has a lot of drama. However, the drama might be there for a reason. The drama obviously makes killing off the characters easy, especially if the fans are begging for it to happen. :lol

another great part.....

the Drama is needed to make good TV.....IMO............we are people and there is drama in peoples lives, it happens everyday and its what I think makes us able to personalize with the characters.

Edit

I would have shoot Randell at the fence.....that would have been the most human thing to do.

I agree.. The genre of this show is "Drama".. A display of human reactions to extraordinary circumstances..
Drama is part of life, minor or major, some drama is worse than other, but it is always there..

Question for anyone who chooses to answer: Which character do you Identify with??
For me, Didn't have one, until Hershel Green.. I completely understand his "Revelation"..

Darrel would be a very good person to have in your camp.  "Hillbilly" or not, the guy is good and I don't think he would ever go off the deep end either.   :aok

Ever see the original?  From the 70's?   Hard to find.  The new one was interesting in some ways, but the original was classic.

Some of the repeated dorky things in the show???

Stabbing into the forehead with a knife obviously too short to reach the Medulla/brainstem..
Not to mention stabbing thru the hardest part of the skull, no small task!

Punching them in the teeth with a bare fist, when a scratch is supposed to kill ya..
Not a good idea huh??? But they do it all the time..

Anyway, don't have Directv, so won't be watching this season.

If they are already carriers, then why do they get a raging fever that burns them out and kills them, when they get bitten...?
Another incongruity in the story line..

Remember the guy they left against the tree, bitten? And the black Guys wife in the First episode, bitten???

RangeFinder, a possible explaination is that theres two strains of the virus, with the one that mutates inside of the dead bodies being the lethal strain.

Or that the dead are host to various viruses/bacteria that cause the fever, but don't affect the zombies, due to them having no functioning imune system (which is what actually increases body temperatue).

Oh, and, Man down!

Well, it is full blown fiction.. So it can do whatever they say it does..
But the fiction is much better, when it all adds up..

The point is that it could all add up. Theres creatures with symbiotic relationships, and parasites in real life. Why can't it happen in TV?

I mean toejam, the entire premise of the show is based on a parasitic virus!

Since they are already infected, I think that being bitten has nothing to do with the zombie virus. I think of the zombie bites in this series more like that of a Komodo dragon's. So much bacteria in their mouth that it causes a lethal infection when bitten. Imagine how much bacteria would be in the mouth of a dead creature feasting on anything that moves.

According to the comics, zombie bones get weaker over time. At this point most in the prison would have skulls as tough as heavy duty cardboard. Too tough for fists or kicks, resiasant to blunt instruments, but blades will puncture them without much effort.

Even though the CDC doctor told Rick that everyone is affected, that may only be his theory.  Shane did turn into a zombie after death with no visual markings of an infected bite or scratch that we saw on the episodes to support that assumption.

The writers of the show may have a surprise in store for the mid season finale or the end of the season finale.

I'm still betting on the shaved head woman who likes Darryl to be the next major person to die.  The season opener gave you the impression it might be someone else but 2nd episode hasn't aired yet.

I have been in awe waiting for this season to start, I don't think Darryl will die - he's to much of a survivor, I would point to Glenn - his risky behavior so far and love for maggie that "Crippled" him once will get him killed. Not sure exactly what Carol
has to do really with the story, after season 2 the entire plot was around her daughter - now she's dead, It seems she's either going to be Darryl's lover or end up dead.

If I had my pick I'd say kill Carol off.

Just give him a sheep.   :aok

Actually, I'm sure we all can see how Daryl and Carol are developing.  She wants a guy like Daryl to be paired with, she is truly dedicated.  Remember how much of a slime her dead husband was and yet she was dedicated to him up until the very end.

I hope they are done killing off the main characters for awhile, me thinks the old timer will hang on for a few episodes.  Dont count him out just yet.   :aok

anybody else try the walking dead game?   it is in episode form...there are 3 out now...its kinda cool.

there was a part where you have to decide to save or kill a guy from a heart attack....a member of your party wants to kill him cuz he thinks he will be turning....I tried to save him....the guy comes over and drops a "salt lick" on his head crushing it flat...... :rofl :rofl :rofl

its a point and click type of game but fun.

what ya need with ghillie suits? you would be better off with some sort of scent block and some base camo clothing...that is assuming the premise that zombies are visually impaired but they can smell you.  :rofl  i've been thinking a modified take down recurve with spare parts. pvc core aluminum arrows with 100gr broadheads. if i had an unlimited supply of arrows i'd do all diy explosive tips, maybe 22mag rat shot.

so, if zombies can be killed with a brain puncture...how is it that there are zombies with holes in their skulls/brains or half their heads missing?

the gillie suit will make ya blend in....if they cant see ya, they cant get ya....as far as scent goes I would think after living out doors you wont smell so "Human"...same with hunting.... I would leave my hunting clothes outside in the ground....

I think being quit would be the most important to survival in that situation.....a bow would be perfect...I love crossbows but in that situation a bow would be better IMO.

head wounds maybe they happened while alive being attacked....so never had their zombie head destroyed... :headscratch:

Seems like the zombies are getting slower each season.

My girlfriend noticed that too.  She also pointed out that in season 1 they looked almost human, almost.  Now they look a lot more decomposed. Is it possible that since they are dead and decomposing, eventually they will just fall apart and be gone?

Another something to think on.  Do zombies breathe?  Since they are up and walking around I assume their muscles work.  Don't muscles require oxygen to function, thus requiring blood flow, thus requiring a working heart?  If this theroy is correct, wouldn't a heart or lung shot incapacitate a zombie?  Maybe not kill it since the brain is what comes back to life, but immobilize it.  Just something to think about.

there is a bunch of things "questionable" with the whole zombie thing....but thats why its called imagination :D

in reality im thinking the bodies would eventually rot till nothing is left...but then what is keeping it alive?....once the flesh rots there would be no more zombie....

If the bones (skulls in particular) get weaker then a silenced .22LR pistol or rifle may be the way to go.  Having anything else bigger than that would be a waste of energy.  Think of it as using a sledgehammer to kill a bug.

These discussions are getting fun.  LOL!   :)

He just got through dealing with Shane, alpha agressive, manipulative, scheming, untrustworthy type. I guess I kinda miss Shane, as a character. :D

2nd season was beginning to be hard to watch, but the last few episodes made up for it. 3rd season has started off alot more action packed, and interesting to me.

I'm sure the zombies smell like roses, but my question is where the hell did the black guy from the show(Jericho) go from first episode? Also if they're all infected does a scratch still turn them? They turned on the BigTiny, like he was the plague. Didn't Shane cut himself with a knife with zombie blood on it?

And boo walkingdeadgame, I'm not #@$%%^ joining facebook to play it. Wish they'd quit with that $%$.

I think this next episode will focus more on Merle Dixon and Michonne... I have a feeling merle showing back up will cause a tear between Daryl and the group, while Michonne will be built as a regular cast member.

Going to be a good episode for sure, kinda wondering how much crap Merle will start, being they left him for dead.

I think the biggest impact with Merle is that his brother will either be leaving the group or be a casualty in the inevitable conmflict with the governor's group and Rick's group.

I'm not so sure about that.  Even though Daryl is not a part of the original story he is a huge fan favorite and the writers and producers know that.  I think it would be a blow to the ratings if Daryl leaves the group or is killed off, seriously.  Since Daryl is not a part of the original story line he offers a good way for the writers to take the show in a different angle if need be.  I'd almost bet that Daryl and Merle duke it out and Daryl sticks with Ric and Co., Merle I'm not so sure about, they didn't like him from the very beginning.

I have no clue how the original story line goes, I have yet to pick up the books and read them.

I was wondering about the aquariums too,  I mean why 'collect' the Helo survivor head at all.   He used him to get to the supplies after that why keep his head.  It seemed like the Governor had some kind of personal hate for him, even though he didn't know the guy.

The other thing that was interesting was how Merle reacted towards the Governor when he asked him if he thought he was still out on the school yard.  During the scene where Merle was pissed off at the scientist for saying something about him.   He had the look of fear in him, as if making the Governor mad is not something one should do.

He doesnt want anyone to be more powerful than him.  That is what I got out of it when Andrea asked the governor what his real name was.  In my opinion he does not want anyone to know his real name as being called the governor gives him the feeling of power and authority.  While I think it was complete BS to kill the national guard unit as obviously they have military experience could have been useful in defending the town but its the writers deciding.  Just shows how sick the governor is.  I think the idea of the heads is to show that he is more powerful then them as he has their head as a trophy.  The helo pilot was a lieutenant which in his mind probably signals power as he is a military officer.

Who's on the phone?

Andrew Lincoln's wife telling him that fresh walker blood covered on his face is making her biological clock to start ringing like it's 1999!

Who's on the phone?

I was thinking it was going to be Carol since they didn't show how she died in the last episode.

Well to say Rick has gone off the deep end would be an understatement.  More like he climbed up on to the high dive and jumped off the back into the concrete.

Glad to see Michone get accepted by the group from what I saw in the previews. Hard to say if Rick was halucinating but Im sure the phonecalls are going to play a significant role in the future. I'm not convinced Lori is dead, but in the comics..No one character is safe

There were some promotional videos when the series first came out.  One of them was about a guy who lost it and kept answering the phone that no longer worked to have conversations with some other survivors he was pretending were real.

Looks like Carol still has a part in the show since Daryl found her alive in the other cell block.

I'd bet the eventual confrontation between Rick's group and the governor's group will be the season ender. My guess is Michone gets to take him out. Probably in the season opener so we'll have to wait to see it.  :(

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

So in the comic Lori is dead, yes?  I remember that Sarah Wayne Callies (actress who played Lori Grimes) was interviewed and was quite sad about leaving the show, so at this point I will go along with the story that Rick is simply losing his mind.

I caught on right away that he was hesitating not going in to the cell in fear of finding Carol a walker or not.  I'm glad she was finally found and is back in play.  It will be interesting to see where the show goes from here.  I too think the season finale will be the group vs Governor's henchmen with Michone getting the honor of gutting him.

I really need to just get the comic and read the entire story.   :D

The show has deviated a lot from the comic. In the comic Michone is with Rick's group before encountering the Governor (with Rick and Glenn). So who knows...
