I'm trying to use the monitor to setup the missions and stuff and then switch to VR when I fly like I did in AH. However the way it's currently setup I have the exact same image on my monitor as my VR. It has two separate images for both eyes. I can get the monitor to work if I exit the game and uncheck VR at startup.

I actually logged in to an IL2 server yesterday and found the people there very friendly and helpful but couldn't help me solve my biggest problem. Maybe somebody here can?

I was lost the whole time and unable to find a fight. I ran out of gas the first time cause I only took 30% fuel but managed to dead stick it back to the base where I watched another 190 doing donuts. After a min it straightened up and roared across the grass very near me and took to the air. The pilot made some comment about his rudder pedals.

I like how different servers have different plane sets. I'm a dingdong tough. I bought the D9 separate to play on the late war severs and the hurri2, not thinking that it wasn't a late war plane. So now I can only fly the D9 in the LW servers.

Rolling plane set would kill the game.  Period, done, over with, kaput...
I concur.  Rolling plane sets are best left to Scenarios or FSO.  :aok

On top of rolling plane sets, I would also support, returning the radar back to something closer to historically correct, and putting the pilot back in the situational awareness business. I think the AAA is way over modeled for the number of players we currently have. I would fix the 5-in guns and the Flak 88 back to historical standards. I think we need to take a hard look at what players are doing with the buffs... low level flying "DeathStar gunships" isn't helping the game.

If a player from World War II online or IL-2 came over to check out Aces High and saw the Death Star gunships around here, They'd be running back to their respective games.... going you won't believe what those dweebs are doing over in Aces High.

Downloading Zaxxon, Tetris, Doom, IL-2 1946, SWOTL, IAF, EF2000, Gunship, and Falcon 3 as I type this...

SWOTL was my fave back in the day!

The fact that a drone can be the size of a dragonfly takes jamming out of the equation imo

Not necessarily. Think of the jamming like a wifi signal. The drone flies into the signal and it causes it's own signals to get scrambled the closer it gets to the source, which would be located at or near the target.

Everything else you mentioned is most certainly true. Strange times we live in.

I think a rolling plane set that would be the best thing that happens to this game/sim.

I agree with this. For historical reason and respect for veterans of FAF, I'd like to fly with B-239 and 109G2 & G6, but it's pretty hopeless for certain reasons. I presume I've never enjoyed dogfight as much as in B-239, when opponent has similar (= low...) skills and kite. Once killed even Ki-84 after long twisting in low alt. Nowadays more in GVs, Navy guns, bombers (to be 1-pinged even by t-34s) or in a sim with era restricted arenas.

Plus, the if those that consistently fly spit 16s, la7s, yak 3s, etc. wanted to get better, they would have done it by now.  Of course, there are exceptions, but some players just jump in what's easy and go.

IMO, those überkitealtpingers cannot take defeat. It's a question of ego; weak one can't confess they are not as brilliant aces as they claim in forum.

Number of MA pilots, per tour:

(Image removed from quote.)

Source: Plane Stats.

Another metric is total hours played, but the variable durations of individual tours has much higher impact on this one than on # of pilots and needs to be averaged over several tours.
Thank you Lusche.  I appreciate the real numbers!  It looks like overall trend is flatter but still trending downwards with a resistance level around 800 pilots.

The attack doesn't have to be large or spectacular just effective

The right mini drone flown at high speed into the right persons eye could flip the place on its ear
