If Colin Powell would have agreed to do the job, he would have swayed many a Connecticut Democrat/Independent, maybe even enough to take the state.

Sure, we don't have many electoral votes, but I'd imagine it'd be the same in other liberal-leaning states, too.  He's one of the few Republicans held in extremely high regard up here.

On a related note: I am becoming increasingly miffed by the total absence of Palin on the media stage.  Hate to say it but I am beginning to think McCain FUBAR'd on that one.

Well listening to him speak, I find myself thinking otherwise.  He shows very little sign of actually understanding any of the issues on the table, and in addition his speeches seem to be at best disjointed.

Lol I remember in 10th grade, all the dumbarse jolly-do-gooder kids who just KNEW he was best thing since sliced bread. Even at 15, I knew he would suck. (I ALso remember people buying crappy used cars because they came with a full tank of gas ...handy thing since most folks couldn't get any due to the genius's price controls

Just to be precise, Jimmy Carter, during work in the Navy nuclear submarine program, completed a non-credit introductory course in nuclear reactor power at Union College starting in March 1953.

Condi Rice was my first pick too. Unlike the op though I don't find Palin to be "a complete moron". She could hardly have gotten where she is if that were true. Sounds like more panic from the bitter and vitriolic left to me.

Ditto, I think Condi would have whipped them all. However I agree with you on Palin too. She's tough! She has been through more of that trashie left side than anyone else. Bitter left is right!!

Condi Rice never earned any confidence from me.  She does not know how to handle the job she has and has proven that time and again... She was window dressing much the same as Palin.  I actually like Palin but during a mccain administration she will be little more than a roving ambassador of gripping and grinning.
