Well, I'm just taking life day by day, getting out of prison was just one step, tomorrow will be new challenges and I'll deal with them on life's terms. The way I look at it, it was just a chapter in my life, not the book... I have alot to be greatful for and that's what's important. Me too Uptown and it is fishy since their massive trool ended. I sincerely hope it is true that Skyrock has come back and has seen the light and is changing his life around. It does happen! I'm an old ex-LEO and have seen two scumbags that were definitely on my craplist on a constant basis that I had arrested multiple times and sent away and come back and we became best of friends even though I was still a COP at the time. They saw how their conduct effected their family and their own self image and decided that they needed to make a change mid-life, and to my knowledge they are still great persons that are an asset to the community. It can happen and it's up to the individual himself and nobody else. Now we as a community must realize that the criminal justice system in the United States is supposed to be based on punishment and rehabilitation but those who seek rehabilitation are facing incredible obstacles with the employment issues that our nation has been facing. The fact is that Skyrock has done the crime and served his time and the slate should be clean here. We should not judge him on his past but what he does with his future! If I were to offer any advice for him in the game it would be to stay off ch 200 and start helping train folks and such. Skyrock has the potential to be a great asset to the AH community. It's all just in his corner now. I wish you well and success in achieving a positive momentum to your life SkyRock!

It may not fit your narrative, but I don't drink and take pills all day. I moved back into town from the lake and still live with my 71 yr old mom. I probably will until her demise as she is blind and can't drive hardly at all. It's fine with me. Afterall, I never manufactured meth or sold drugs to make ends meet.

I was released on parole on the 2nd, and reported to my PO at 4pm of the 3rd where I officially became a released parolee under her supervision. As far as your feelings on meth offenders, I totally understand... In three months time that drug destroyed everything that I had valued up until that disasterous decision to partake. I expect many in society to feel the way you do towards my conviction and I'm definitely not proud of it... but I can't dwell on that time in my life, it's over and I have to move on.... I will be under MDOC supervision on parole and probation for another 16 years or more so I am not finished paying my debt, 6 or so years on parole and 10 more years on probation. I did meth on christmas break of '09, and learned how to make two grams in a 20 oz coke bottle on the 12th of March by the girl who was supplying me with the meth, that week I went and bought the materials for $40, that friday night, I went out to my garage and made 1.5 grams of meth in the bottle in a process they call shake and bake. I neutralized the bottle and left it in the garage which was in a seperate building in my back yard. I was arrested that monday the 22nd march 2010 after my ex wifwe brought the police over and showed them the bottle. That is how fast my life completely changed. I got out on bond and used until Nov 30. On Dec 2, 2010 I was taken into custody for good. MDOC started my sentence on Nov 20, 2010 as they gave me the 11 days I did before bond.

Bustr I have worked admin for the Dept of Corrections here in Florida and I can tell you that without exception that anyone that goes inside (including guards) only become weaker. The exterior may harden but the inside is pure weakness. At least the majority of people in this thread remain consistent even if they adhere to their barking moonbat philosophy.
SkyRock is only doing what comes natural to someone that has been deprived of his freedoms. He wants to return to acceptance and comraderie and of course to him that means his friends and family in Aces High. I can understand that people react the way they do especially considering that thought before response is not very common but instead people tend to judge and condemn.
SkyRock has served his time and how or why he has returned is not our place as customers to reflect upon. This is Hitechs house and his to administer.

The difference is that no one, to my knowledge, was commiting a felony and endangering children while at the same time claiming some moral and intellectual superiority or high ground both here and on other message boards and while being entrusted with his community's children as a teacher. my daughter alyssa volunteers at our vets office. Shes learning hands on what her future job will be. She will be attending the local community college next fall getting her associates and off to cenral michigan university for her BA and then Belray (spelling) institute for vet medical. She will have 4 years there to get her degree. Shes 17 now. My 12 year old son wants to be a k9 officer.

so i only read the first 15 pages of this thread and decided to not waste the next 15-20 minutes of my life.
lots of drama in this thread. I have a brother that has done wrong in the past with drugs. he did his time and he has learned his lesson and has changed his life. Not everyone can do that, it takes a lot of work to over come something like drugs. I hope Mark can do it.

I also hope to see you back sometime in the future. We still have a duel thats been put on hold for a long while. i too have not played in sometime but i am willing to dust off the old gaming rig to fly with you.

Everybody does drugs in one form or another. Alcohol is easily as destructive as meth when abused, for a start. Yes it's wrong to cook up amphetamines in your shed (better or worse than making dealers richer?) but obviously Mark knew that already or if he didn't he certainly does by now. I'm not suggesting anyone should welcome him back, just explaining part of why it's easy for me to.

Truth be told Corky, there's two reasons I don't want to delve to much into it.
The 1st is I actually like and respect you on here and I don't want it to get out of hand.

I forgave SkyRock all of his trespasses the instant they happened, they were inexcusable actions, so i did not attempt to excuse him of them. they are his and his alone no matter how or why they were committed and/or who did or didn't help him in their executions. i let his transgressions go because i like him as a person and his actions did me no harm.....
but on the other hand, i refuse to forgive twin tail (and other shade vulchers) of their actions....they were, in all reasonable reality meaningless and very excusable actions, but i did not attempt to excuse him of them. they are his and his alone no matter how or why they were committed and/or who did or didn't help him in their executions. i refuse to let his transgressions go because i don't know/like him as a person but yet his actions did me no harm.....i will never like him, but i will never go out of my way to harm him or bother him or trash talk him as long as he leaves me alone and doesn't tread into my domain. the boards are open, i.e. public, my squad is private i.e. mine.

This thread was never about the Muppets. We all tend to get carried away at times with squads. This isn't about that.
This is about a person looking for an opportunity to get his life together. Clearly it's brought up lots of feelings from lots of people.
People are not wrong for how they feel either in support or in their anger. They are entitled to how they feel. It speaks poorly of the rest of us if we aren't able to handle ourselves as adults in talking about it.

36 pages, truly astounding material and more than 3/4's of it is posturing.Yeah jay, their mother was also incarcerated so they had both parents gone, luckily I had a good strong relationship with my children before this happened and I was very lucky to have family that stepped in and took extremely good care of the kids... the first time they came to visit the first thing they said was "stop apologizing in your letters dad, we forgive you and when you get out we'll have the rest of our lives full of new adventures... it's ok" So, I'm good, and I expected to get blasted by some in here... I also am deeply humbled by the support and humanity I've been shown by the many of the players I've met and enjoyed this game with over the years, this is truly a great community of people. I am just greatful that it wasn't any worse than it could have been and that I have a second chance, a chance to be a better person.
I met Mark at SHawk's crib back in 2008, unlike most of his Squaddies. After helping him with the game as a numbers guy and even before and while he was in the 327th, I am amazed throughout this thread. Mark, I hope you can get to the point where merely attempting to explain some of this to your kids will be easy. Because those are the two you need to truly make up the lost time with. You are resilient to accomplish that, I have no doubt about it. Just remember you have family and your children to help guide you, if you stumble in life.
Some went overboard for the sake of going overboard. Some are now resorting to open threats and still have accounts here...
Mark, I know you well enough that you knew some would give you the 3rd degree. Maybe soon I will get back into AH and wing you and other old friends that I sometime miss.

I can say this about Skyrock with all honesty, and no reservations, and in public:
I do not defend the drugs, and somewhat suspected other influences on many of our phone conversations. He did what he did, and he alone has to pay the penalty. That penalty involves more than himself. It involves his career, children, family, and some friends.
Some of you may be closer to him, but there have been countless nights either he called me, or I called him just to chat, and 2-3 hours later we said "oops, gotta go to bed". He is the only liberal that will actually intelligently debate with me, sometimes conceding a point I made.
He is a loving father, and cares more about his children than ever shown or explained on any of the open forums. I spoke with him before, near during, and after the incident. He is genuine, and in-person (via phone) truly responsible for his own actions.
When this all went down it was rather fast, and almost everyone jumped on the "bash Skyrock" bandwagon. You only have to search around that time to see the comments by many here, and other forums.
I never said, or will say he is a saint, and I don't condone what he did. I will say I stand by a friend I have. I will trust him as much as I can, support him, and hope for a better future. I know he loves his children, and I know they love him. I know he is a passionate person, and he will move forward in life.
That forward movement will only be decided by his own decisions, and influences from his friends and family. I for one am going to do my best to influence him to live a stable, sober life. I am also going to remind him of things that only the 2 of us know about, and how influential they can be.

I have known FLOTS for 30 years...he is upset that people are attacking his friend......which i fully understand.....
FLOTS does no drugs(except ciggs and coffee)he is against chemicals.... but understands that every one is Human and we ALL make mistakes, Mark is no different then anyone of us.....we have all done wrong...even the ones who are really trying to give Mark a hard time.
He (Mark) is a loving dad, a great guy that got twisted up in a bad situation....simple as that.....
Flots went off a bit there which he does not do very often, (thats normally me) he just wants people to leave Mark alone and let him try to put his life back together.
The hard part clearly is knowing when to stop. Folks seem to keep wanting this to be about more then it is, which is a former player who in the real world made some horrific decisions that impacted on himself and his family.
People have been very clear about their feelings but now they're turning on each other. How stupid is that? So how bout everyone goes to their corners and let this go now?

But I think Flots is a lil over the edge at the moment. Regardless of his relationship w/mark. Pork loin was marinaded for 3 hours in Olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, Red Wine vinegar, a touch of sugar and fresh herb sprigs that I had picked from my garden (basil, thyme, rosemary, and sage). Seared on all sides then moved to cooler area of the grill to slow cook for an hour. After just getting to safe temp I let them rest for 1/2 hour before slicing very thin for serving.
Without a doubt the best, juiciest pork loin I ever made.
The kabob ingredients (chicken, steak, peppers, onions, tomatoes) were prepped on Thursday and allowed to marinade for 2 days in a doctored up Italian dressing mixture. Found some fresh corn from a local farm and decided to cut and add. Assembled on site and grilled for your pleasure.

Make a seasoning for your drums. I used my dry rub of brn sugar, caribbean jerk, jamaica all spice, garlic powder, black pepper, crushed red pepper, cayanne pepper, etc. Add or nix whatever you want. The brown sugar is the base so its about 1/2 of the blend. Get a spoon and taste it if you never have made it. It's hard to mess up.
Coat your drums and rub it all over.
Wrap them with bacon starting at the thin part and overlap it so it will stay. Then stck a toothpick in the top when you are done.
Put more seasoning on them now that the bacon is on.
Throw em on da grill.
Get your sauce going. I mixed half a jar of BBQ sauce(I used Stubbs Spicy today), some syrup, a little mustard, onion, a smashed garlic clove, some root beer(beer is good too). Don't let your dog knock it off the grill.
I like to brush them 4-6 times with sauce the last 10 minutes I cook em.
